Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing procurement activities supporting new product development and introduction. Participate in NPI core team meetings and provide supply chain updates. Ensure procurement deliverables meet project milestones and launch schedules.
- Engage suppliers early in the product development process. Source and request quotations for new components, perform price comparison and supplier selection. Place and manage purchase orders for prototype, pilot build and first production requirements. Monitor critical component deliveries and expedite shortages. Escalate supplier issues affecting NPI schedules and develop recovery plans for supply constraints.
- Cross-functional collaboration with R&D Engineering, Global Commodity Team , Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers to ensure material readiness, supplier readiness, and supply continuity throughout the NPI lifecycle, enabling successful product launches and production ramp-up.
- Initiate risk management to identify long lead-time and high-risk components, develop mitigation strategies for supply disruptions, support alternate source qualification efforts and monitor market conditions and component availability risks.
- Support BOM cost tracking and cost target achievement, negotiate for best pricing and lead-time improvements and drive for cost reduction opportunities with suppliers.
- Drive NPI procurement key metrices and provide regular updates to management and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Supply Chain Management/ Business Administration/ Engineering)
- 5-6 years of procurement experience, preferably supporting NPI or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications: Excel, Power Point and Power BI.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, ability to work in a fast-paced NPI environment and strong sense of urgency and execution.
