1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HireJack ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

HireJack is a job market intelligence platform that aggregates publicly available job listing data from company career pages and Applicant Tracking Systems. We provide analytics, search, and comparison tools to help job seekers and researchers understand hiring trends in the technology sector.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account to access personalized features such as saved jobs and recommendations. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as necessary.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the Service
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the aggregated data
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure

5. Job Listing Data

Job listings displayed on HireJack are sourced from publicly accessible career pages and ATS APIs. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing. Always verify details on the employer's official career page before applying. HireJack is not a recruiter, employer, or staffing agency.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service's design, code, analytics methodologies, and aggregated datasets are proprietary. Job listing content belongs to the respective employers. Our taxonomy, skill dictionaries, and data enrichment layers are original works.

6a. Subscriptions and Billing

HireJack offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on the plan selected at signup. By subscribing, you authorize HireJack to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the start of each billing period.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. HireJack does not store or have access to your full payment card details. All billing is handled securely through Stripe's infrastructure.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access through that date and will not be charged again.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge at support@tvlss.com and we will review your case.

If a payment fails, we will retry the charge according to Stripe's standard retry schedule. If payment cannot be collected, your account will be downgraded to the Free tier until payment is resolved.

6b. Affiliate Links and Course Recommendations

HireJack recommends online courses, certifications, and learning resources to help users close skill gaps identified in their profile. Some of these recommendations are affiliate links — when you click through and enroll, HireJack may receive a commission from the course provider at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence which courses we recommend. Course selection is based on the skill demand data in our market intelligence platform and the editorial judgment of our team. We recommend free resources where they are the best option, regardless of whether they generate commission.

The disclosure "HireJack may earn a commission when you enroll through these links" appears on every interface where affiliate links are displayed.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HireJack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on job listing data, salary information, or hiring trend analyses.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes — including changes to pricing, data practices, or user rights — we will notify registered users by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. For non-material changes, continued use of the Service after the updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the Service in a way that harms other users or HireJack's infrastructure. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination except where immediate action is required.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@tvlss.com. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

If HireJack discontinues the Service, we will provide at least 30 days notice via email and will issue prorated refunds for any unused paid subscription periods.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Johnson County, Iowa, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to contact us first at support@tvlss.com and give us 30 days to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

1. Information We Collect

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store plaintext passwords).

Profile data: You may optionally provide your skills, desired roles, location preferences, headline, and resume. This data is used solely to power job recommendations and is never sold or shared.

Usage data: We collect anonymous pageview events (page URL, timestamp, referrer, user agent) for traffic analytics. These are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Feedback: If you submit feedback through our form, we store your message, category, email (if provided), and submission timestamp.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Account & profile data: To authenticate you, personalize your experience, and generate job recommendations
• Usage data: To understand traffic patterns and improve the Service
• Email: To send password reset links and (if opted in) notification emails. We never send marketing emails.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in AWS DynamoDB (encrypted at rest) in the US East (Ohio) region. Resumes are stored in a private S3 bucket accessible only via signed URLs. All traffic is served over HTTPS via CloudFront.

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (10 rounds). Authentication uses signed JWT tokens in httpOnly, Secure, SameSite cookies.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking pixels. Our analytics are entirely self-hosted.

4a. Affiliate Links

Some links on the Service direct you to third-party course providers under affiliate programs (see Terms §6b). HireJack does not share your personal information, profile data, or skill recommendations with these providers. When you click an affiliate link, your browser is redirected to the third party's site — once there, that provider's privacy policy and tracking technologies apply.

For commission attribution, we may include an opaque tracking parameter in the redirect URL. This parameter does not contain your email, name, or any directly identifying information. If you prefer not to participate, simply navigate to the course provider's site directly without clicking the affiliate link.

4b. Payment Processing

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. When you subscribe, your payment information (card number, billing address, etc.) is entered directly into Stripe's secure interface and governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. HireJack receives only a tokenized reference to your payment method and never stores your full card details.

Stripe may store and process your payment data in the United States and other countries where Stripe operates.

5. Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie (hj_token) to maintain your login session. It is httpOnly (not accessible to JavaScript), Secure (HTTPS only), and expires after 7 days. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party cookies.

6. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Usage analytics: Auto-deleted after 90 days (TTL)
• Feedback: Retained for 1 year
• Resume data: Resumes uploaded to HireJack are stored in a private S3 bucket and are permanently deleted when you delete your account or remove your resume from your profile. Resumes are never shared with employers, third parties, or used for any purpose other than generating your job recommendations.

7. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@tvlss.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

10. International Users

HireJack is operated from the United States. All user data is stored in AWS infrastructure located in the US East (Ohio) region. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the European Economic Area, we process your personal data on the basis of contractual necessity (to provide the Service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (to improve and secure the Service). You may have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or port your data — contact us at support@tvlss.com to exercise these rights.
