from Tesla careersThe Auto Paint Technician will be responsible for refinishing and painting repaired or damaged vehicle parts in a safe and quality manner, with a finish that meets or exceeds the original factory specifications. The end result should be an invisible repair to delight the customer. The successful candidate is a master of his craft and proud of all his previous repair work.
<h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul class="tds-list tds-list--unordered"><li>Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely</li><li>Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated</li><li>Mixes paint according to specifications. Tints color for proper match</li><li>Produces test panels when needed to obtain industry acceptable color match</li><li>Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate</li><li>Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and unpainted areas</li><li>Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair</li><li>Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer</li><li>Complies with all China laws and environmental standards</li><li>Able to work flexible hours and be available to work extended hours to complete tasks as requested by management</li><li>Attends training in order to constantly improve</li><li>Other Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned, based on the business need</li></ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3><ul class="tds-list tds-list--unordered"><li>Minimum 5 years in an water based paint experience</li><li>Capable of restoring damaged paint to factory original specifications</li><li>Must have an interest in completing only the highest quality work</li><li>Knowledge of various paint brands and how to mix and color match</li><li>Knowledge of repair techniques and tools required to perform whole body paint work</li><li>Above average organizational skills</li><li>Able to use vibratory/hand tools, stand, bend, squat, twist, lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds</li><li>Have working knowledge of proper corrosion protection restoring techniques</li><li>Ability to travel for training </li><li>Paint and parts scheduling planning is a must.</li></ul>
