Your role and responsibilities
You don’t just want to learn about technology — you want to work directly with customers and help turn innovation into real business value. As part of IBM’s technical sales organization supporting German customers, you’ll be right at the intersection of technology, consulting, and sales.
You’ll work with cutting‑edge IBM Cloud technologies, ranging from bare metal servers, virtualisation and Kubernetes/OpenShift to serverless platforms, Power Virtual Servers, and AI solutions. Step by step, you’ll build deep technical expertise while learning how to position and design solutions that solve real customer challenges. You’ll learn what truly powers the cloud: how architectures are built, secured, monitored, optimized for cost, and operated at enterprise scale.
In close collaboration with customers, you’ll take part in workshops, live demos, technical conferences, and marketing events, representing IBM as a trusted technical advisor. You’ll translate complex technology into clear value propositions and help customers make confident decisions.
You won’t do this alone. You’ll be embedded in a collaborative team of sales professionals and technical sellers, learning how successful sales teams operate and how strong partnerships are built. With continuous learning, exposure to enterprise customers, and a supportive IBM culture, you’ll gain the skills, experience, and network to accelerate your career in technology and sales.
Required technical and professional expertise
• Excellent communication skills in German (native or C2) & English
• Academic Program Enrollment: Currently enrolled at a university or educational institution, or recently completed qualification.
• Basic Understanding of Business Operations: Familiarity with general business concepts and principles, with a willingness to learn and expand knowledge.
• Exposure to Teamwork: Basic understanding of teamwork and communication skills, with a desire to develop these skills in a professional setting.
• Interest in Professional Development: Desire to gain hands-on experience and build skills in a real-world setting, with a focus on personal and professional growth.
• Curiosity about Industry Trends: Interest in learning about industry trends and developments, with a willingness to explore and learn from experienced professionals.
