Job description
from Google careersWe aim to provide the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of public cloud for customers with exceptionally high security requirements that can only be met in a private cloud environment. We deliver and operate these private cloud deployments for the most critical customers, helping scale, secure and maintain the deployment whilst working closely with Google product teams to continually improve our technology.
This role is part of a new team focused on meeting the needs of our most critical customers in the UK As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will be deploying new infrastructure as our deployments scale, rolling out new features and updates, troubleshooting problems, and managing incidents. You will automate common tasks, manage incidents and conduct blameless retrospectives to avoid the same problems happening again. You will work with local support staff to help them with challenging problems and you will reach back into Google’s product teams for help where you need it. You will troubleshoot technical problems with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration and coding/scripting skills. If necessary you will update our playbooks, not just to help our UK team but to help similar teams around the world. You will help drive the success of Google Cloud by understanding and advocating customers issues.
