Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category Team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.
In this role, you will be responsible for pioneering innovative category and sourcing strategies, cultivating supplier relationships, and optimizing spend categories through data-driven insights to unlock value for Google.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$197,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Support development and execution of category strategies aligned with organizational objectives for assigned indirect spend categories.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Support execution of sourcing strategies, request for X (RFx) processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
- Analyze spending patterns, market trends, and identify value opportunities within the category.
- Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement roles, with a focus on managing indirect spend categories related to construction and real estate, or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience executing sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within construction categories.
- Experience with agreements, including drafting, review, and management within construction categories.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Advanced degree in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in real estate, construction, transactions, asset management, or related fields.
- Experience developing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure category performance and track progress towards goals.
- Experience analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and providing insights supporting decision-making, alongside project management and leading initiatives aimed at process improvements, implementing new strategies, and driving innovation.
- Experience identifying and driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovation initiatives in category management.
