Overview
GitHub Actions powers automation for millions of developers worldwide, processing billions of CI/CD jobs monthly, from simple builds to complex deployment pipelines spanning multiple environments and platforms including macOS. Our team owns the macOS platform within Actions, working across cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and distributed systems to deliver a reliable and performant experience for developers. We’re looking for a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction for the macOS platform, lead cross-team efforts to deliver durable platform capabilities, and raise the bar on scalability, reliability, and operational excellence at scale. You’ll identify the highest-leverage problems, drive alignment across stakeholders, and guide design and execution from early architecture through rollout and long-term operational ownership, including observability, incident response readiness, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test and ship high-quality technical solutions that scale across multiple GitHub services and become intimately familiar with the systems you build and take pride in writing maintainable code.
