Role description

We are looking for passionate Software Engineers to join our Bucharest Centre of Excellence and build the next generation of scalable, flexible, and high-performance systems.
Whether you are fortifying our security infrastructure against cyber threats, scaling our public-facing APIs for global partners, or engineering proactive reliability tools, your code will impact millions of travelers globally.
This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Build & Scale: Develop robust, high-volume backend microservices and distributed applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Own the Code: Take features from design and implementation through to deployment and production monitoring.
Solve Real Problems: Address complex technical issues within distributed systems, prioritizing based on customer impact and performance metrics.
Collaborate: Partner closely with autonomous, cross-functional teams to deliver secure, resilient, and cloud-native solutions.
Innovate: Apply modern engineering best practices (TDD, Domain-Driven Design, Observability) to maintain clean, reusable code.
Tech you’ll use:
Languages: Deep focus on Java (with opportunities to touch Python, C#, or React/TypeScript depending on the team).
Data & Eventing: Kafka, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
Observability: Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Experience: 3+ years of software engineering experience, primarily using server-side languages (Java strongly preferred).
System Knowledge: Hands-on experience building and maintaining scalable microservices and APIs.
Tech Foundations: Demonstrable experience with relational databases and an understanding of messaging systems (like Kafka).
Mindset: A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for learning emerging technologies and modern engineering practices.
Communication: Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to discuss technical problems clearly.
