As part of our Booking Holdings Romania team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the world’s leading provider of online travel, with a mission of making it easier for everyone to experience the world through five-primary consumer facing brands: Booking.com, Priceline, Agoda, KAYAK and OpenTable.
This role provides a determined contract of 6 months, a working schedule of 6 hours/day and a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.
Role description
As a Data Reporting Analyst Intern, you will assist the Data Analytics Engineer II in supporting Internal Stakeholders (employees of Booking Holdings and its subsidiaries), translating business questions, turning them into technical requirements and support in implementation.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
User Experience: Collaborate with Data Analytics Engineers to develop intuitive front-end layouts and impactful KPI visualizations.
Continuous Improvement: Actively support in collecting user feedback to identify and implement enhancements for our standardized dashboard suite.
Data Modeling: Work alongside Data Analytics Engineers to improve dashboard performance by designing efficient data models.
Pipeline Development: Gain hands-on experience writing and testing SQL and Python code to build data transformation pipelines.
Modern Tech Stack: Utilize dbt for data modeling and Snowflake to structure data layers that meet specific business requirements.
Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain custom scripts using JavaScript (Google Apps Script) to automate workflows, integrate Google Workspace tools, and streamline data collection processes.
Operational Excellence: Support the health of our data ecosystem by assisting in the maintenance of pipelines and ensuring reports meet delivery standards (SLAs).
Data Stewardship: Contribute to and help document best practices for our Data Warehouse to ensure high data quality and governance.
Role Qualifications and Requirements
Data Visualization: Familiarity with one or more reporting tools (e.g., DataStudio, Tableau, or MicroStrategy) to transform data into actionable insights.
Database Knowledge: Basic understanding of Cloud Data Warehousing concepts (preferably Snowflake).
Core Programming: Foundational knowledge of SQL (writing queries) and Python (data cleaning & manipulation).
Development Workflow: Exposure to version control systems like Git (GitHub/GitLab) and an interest in learning CI/CD and test automation practices.
Familiarity with JavaScript or Google Apps Script.
Any experience or project work involving Snowflake, dbt or Dagster is a plus, but not required.
Technical Curiosity: A problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and debug code.
Collaboration: Comfortable working independently on technical tasks while effectively communicating and solving problems within a team environment.
