Job description
from Square (Block) careersBlock is one company built from many blocks, all united by the same purpose of economic empowerment. The blocks that form our foundational teams — People, Finance, Counsel, Hardware, Information Security, Platform Infrastructure Engineering, and more — provide support and guidance at the corporate level. They work across business groups and around the globe, spanning time zones and disciplines to develop inclusive People policies, forecast finances, give legal counsel, safeguard systems, nurture new initiatives, and more. Every challenge creates possibilities, and we need different perspectives to see them all. Bring yours to Block.
The Role
As part of Block’s Global BSA/AML and Sanctions Program, the Global Head of Sanctions Compliance will own the end-to-end sanctions program across the company. You will set the strategic vision, and own the Sanctions program, policies, standards, and oversight of execution. You will serve as the company's senior lead on all Sanctions matters, inclusive of escalations, regulatory reporting, and engagement with external agencies.
You Will
- Own Block's global sanctions compliance program end-to-end — covering real-time payments, peer-to-peer money movement, Bitcoin and digital asset transactions, merchant acquiring, and BNPL — developing a multi-year strategy that keeps pace with both regulatory change and product velocity.
- Author and maintain company-wide sanctions policies.
