Compliance Design Evaluation Engineer (Senior)

This is a senior evaluation engineering role supporting product compliance for the Data Center and Energy business unit. You will execute compliance evaluations, document results, and partner with system design teams and external certification bodies to ensure products meet applicable safety, mechanical, and EMC requirements.

  • Execute laboratory test plans and procedures for safety, EMC, mechanical, and/or environmental standards.
  • Generate detailed test reports documenting laboratory setups and device-under-test (DUT) configurations to ensure repeatability across development cycles and between internal and external labs.
  • Support development of fixtures/jigs, lab interface boards, and software tools to enable laboratory automation and DUT control.
  • Coordinate logistics with internal test labs, engineering teams, and certification bodies to optimize scheduling for safety, EMC, and robustness testing.
  • Support debug activities in the lab, including soldering/rework (e.g., adding recommended filters/components), reworking assemblies, and making board-level modifications as needed.
  • Collaborate with compliance design activities by reviewing schematics, PCB layout, and mechanical designs to verify alignment with safety clauses, EMC design rules, and industry best practices.

Required qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience performing product compliance testing to IEC 61010-1 and/or the IEC 61000 EMC series (or equivalent standards).
  • Experience working with external certification bodies and supporting certification test campaigns.
  • Ability to produce clear, repeatable test procedures and high-quality test reports with strong attention to detail.
  •         Hands-on electronics lab skills, including soldering/rework and component selection/procurement.
  • Programming or test automation experience in Python and/or LabVIEW.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience designing or reviewing schematics and PCB layout, including practical knowledge of EMC filtering, grounding, and layout techniques.
  • Working knowledge of safety design best practices (e.g., creepage/clearance, insulation systems, protective earth/grounding) and how they map to compliance clauses.
  • Experience with mechanical and environmental (ambient) testing and design considerations.
  • Experience with power monitoring or power instrumentation projects.
