The Anaplan Business Analyst / Model Builder will support Anaplan, our Enterprise Reporting and Planning Platform. Experience with software systems, financial data, and cross-functional delivery is critical. This role develops, manages, and optimizes Anaplan models to support financial and workforce planning processes, while also serving as a business analyst and delivery lead—partnering with stakeholders to define requirements, propose solutions, manage end-to-end implementation, and drive adoption.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Anaplan experience (finance and/or workforce planning), strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. This individual is enthusiastic, curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and multiple initiatives run concurrently.

Key Responsibilities:

Anaplan Model Build & Platform Ownership

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Anaplan models supporting finance and workforce planning use cases.
  • Create and manage dashboards, management reporting views, and user experiences to support decision-making.
  • Perform data integration, validation, and analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability of model inputs and outputs.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within Anaplan models, including reconciliations and auditability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Anaplan models, integrations, hierarchies, and data loads.
  • Implement security and access controls to ensure users have appropriate and compliant data access.
  • Continuously improve and optimize models for performance, usability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Anaplan Model Controllers and global partners across time zones to maintain alignment and standards.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Partner with Finance, HR, and operational stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Translate requirements into functional specifications and user stories with clear assumptions, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
  • Analyze current-state processes and data flows; identify pain points and opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Serve as liaison between business stakeholders and technical contributors (IT, data engineering, reporting teams).
  • Create and maintain implementation documentation (requirements, solution design, process flows, release notes).
  • Support rollout activities, including change management, training, communications, and user enablement.
  • Deliver training sessions and create user guides/job aids to drive successful end-user adoption.
  • Provide post–go-live support and gather feedback to drive iterative improvements.
  • Review and interpret financial and workforce data to identify trends, anomalies, and key drivers; provide insights and recommendations.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests with detailed backups, explanations, and audit trails as needed.
  • Assist in defining KPIs, business rules, and calculation logic for planning and reporting models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, information technology, accounting, or a related field.
  • Anaplan Level 1 Model Builder (or higher) with proven experience building and supporting Anaplan models (finance and/or workforce planning strongly preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated experience translating business needs into functional/technical solutions (requirements, documentation, stakeholder management).
  • Working knowledge of enterprise tools such as SAP, Power BI, and QlikView is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with financial and operational datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly shifting environment.
  • Experience building and analyzing financial models for forecasting, variance analysis, competitive analysis, and problem solving.
  • Solid understanding of corporate financials, accounting principles, and regulatory considerations.
  • A sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm for taking on new opportunities and tough challenges.
  • Curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset—constantly pushing for clarity on how financial and business models operate.
