THE ROLE:

AMD Serdes Technology Group develops high-performance electrical and optical transceivers in advanced CMOS PDKs. We are seeking an expert in analog/mixed-signal circuit design and architecture.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced ultra-high-speed electrical and/or optical PHY architect. She/He needs to be a self-starter who collaborates well with various functional teams and customers to successfully drive projects to completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To lead transceiver micro-architecture definition, modeling, simulation, implementation, and verification: Tx DSP and Rx DSP, CDR, adaptation and calibration loops
Mentoring junior engineers in implementation tasks to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and milestones
Conduct peer reviews of design and verification results

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Architecture lead role for 100 GBPS or higher transceiver
Proven silicon success 100GBPS or higher transceiver
Model and spec analog circuit impairments and fixed-point micro-architecture for optimal PPA
Top-level and block-level electrical/optical link budgeting and modeling
To work with pre-tapeout verification and post-silicon validation teams to bring up silicon and analyze volume productization data

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Ph.D in electrical engineering or related fields of industrial experience or M.S. plus relevant industrial experience in optical and/or electrical transceiver design
Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.
