THE ROLE: 

A DevOps Engineer to drive the design, provisioning, and scalability of our next-generation infrastructure. This senior role is a critical enabler in our engineering organization, focusing on on-premises architecture, capacity planning, and system reliability. As a key contributor, you will partner with leading teams to build and maintain the robust, high-performance infrastructure that powers AMD's ability to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market.

THE PERSON: 

You are a seasoned infrastructure engineer with deep expertise in designing and operating complex, high-performance systems at scale. You thrive in collaborative environments, take ownership of hard problems, and bring the technical depth to architect solutions others consider out of reach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Design, provision, and maintain scalable on-premises and cloud infrastructure to support engineering and product development environments.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying and resolving infrastructure bottlenecks and reliability issues.
• Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions to standardize and automate environment provisioning.
• Support network architecture, storage systems, and compute resource planning across lab and production environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and security teams to ensure infrastructure meets technical and compliance requirements.
• Maintain documentation of infrastructure topology, configurations, and operational runbooks.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation for infrastructure-related outages.
  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• 3+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Systems Administration.
• Solid understanding of compute, storage, and networking infrastructure
• Proficient in one or more scripting languages such as Bash or Python; experience with infrastructure-as-code tools: Terraform, Ansible.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for troubleshooting infrastructure, network, and system-level issues.
• Good understanding of networking protocols, switching, routing, and network device management.
• Proficient in Linux and Windows server administration; macOS familiarity is a plus.
• Proficiency in English with clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical configurations and present findings to cross-functional teams
  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer / software engineering, computer science
