from Amazon careersAs a member of a growing PNT team within Amazon Leo, the Time Transfer and Synchronization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing and monitoring high-precision synchronization architectures across terrestrial and space-based networks. You will use various time transfer protocols to achieve nanosecond-level accuracy over RF and optical links.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate time transfer systems using multiple methodologies including PTP/NTP, TWSTFT, GNSS Common View, GNSS All in View or other protocols
- Implement time transfer over RF and optical links
- Evaluate and integrate emerging time transfer technologies to achieve nanosecond level timing accuracy
- Design and build an operational system to monitor the performance of clock synchronization architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on satellite timing systems, ground gateway operations, and network time synchronization
- Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of timing systems across distributed infrastructure
