Amazon is seeking a Tax Analyst to join its Direct Tax Reporting team in Hyderabad, India. This role supports the US CapEx team with the reporting of US income tax consequences for Amazon’s unparalleled global portfolio of assets. The role focuses on US CapEx operations. A successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, great attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven, dynamic environment. Experience automating the organization of vast amounts of data into useful information is essential

Key job responsibilities
• Assist in preparation of Amazon’s US income tax provision, forecast, and tax returns as it relates to US CapEx transactions by analyzing US GAAP reporting, determining book-tax differences, preparing workpapers and technical memorandums, and performing tax law research
• Assist in preparation of deferred tax reconciliations; identify drivers of basis differences
• Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements which increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of data
• Assist in developing analyses, metrics, and narratives to be communicated to tax management, external auditors, and other stakeholders within and outside tax
• Assist in coordinating information requests with business partners to ensure accurate and timely inclusion within various tax reporting deliverables
• Participate in special projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

Preferred Qualifications

- • Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or Enrolled Agent certification
- • Knowledge of accounting principles, processes, and entries
- • Experience with US income tax reporting for CapEx transactions.
- • Experience working with US-based team members specifically within income tax operations
- • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- • Self-starter; must have strong desire to help improve processes for scalability, efficiency, and accuracy
- • Background in data analytics or computer science and have an interest in developing Alteryx/Python skills
