We are seeking a hands-on and analytically strong Credit Risk Individual Contributor to support the execution of our credit initiatives in Brazil and help create access to affordable payment methods. You will own the development and optimization of credit policies, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to manage and improve our digital credit products.
The ideal candidate possesses solid credit risk management experience, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record executing credit strategies end-to-end. You must be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor credit policies across the customer lifecycle (acquisition, activation, limit management, and maintenance), ensuring alignment with risk appetite and business goals.
- Analyze portfolio performance leveraging data-driven insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization across key metrics (approval rates, FPD, loss rates, Incremental profitability and vintage curves).
- Design and execute A/B tests and champion/challenger experiments to continuously improve underwriting rules, decision models, and segmentation strategies.
- Support collections and recovery strategy execution, including segmentation logic, collection rules, and performance tracking of internal and external collection efforts.
- Build and maintain risk dashboards and reporting cadences, translating complex data into actionable narratives for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to embed risk controls into customer journeys, ensuring scalable and automated decision-making.
- Identify signs of macroeconomic deterioration or improvement that may impact portfolio performance and propose strategies with clear trade-off analysis.
- Support the development of credit risk frameworks, including risk appetite definition, governance documentation, and policy governance routines.
About the team
Brazil Payments is part of the International Emerging Stores Payments team and focuses on supporting the launch of new payment and financial products to our customers in Brazil.
- Solid experience in credit risk, credit policy, or portfolio management in financial services, fintech, or banking.
- Speak, write and read fluently in English
- Deep expertise in credit underwriting, collections strategy and fraud prevention across consumer lending products in Latin American markets, particularly Brazil.
- Proven track record designing and implementing credit risk frameworks that balanced growth targets with loss mitigation in high-growth environments.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical tool (SAS, Python, or R)
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable credit strategies
- Familiarity with machine learning models applied to credit scoring or segmentation
- Knowledge of Brazilian credit bureau data (Serasa, SPC, Boa Vista)

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent- Solid experience in credit risk, credit policy, or portfolio management in financial services, fintech, or banking.
- Speak, write and read fluently in English
