We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to help setup and deliver robust, structured reporting, analytics and models, automations and AI initiatives for the ship with Amazon vertical in Europe. You will be a key contributor to shaping our strategic innovation program by equipping the project teams with the insights into the operation performance.
You will have an eye for detail, proficient/advanced SQL/DW/Python and have a knack for solving challenging data, reporting and automation challenges. The role requires you to feel comfortable working with and clearly communicating with other functional teams, regionally and globally.
The position will be based in Barcelona. You will be reporting to a Business Intelligence Manager, working intensely with his (larger) project team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; will be a creative and an analytical problem solver with the opportunity to fulfill the Amazon motto to “Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History”.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop analytical solutions to business problems that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
• Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
• Design pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area
• Understand data resources and how, when, and what to use (and what not to use).
• Develop analyses (whether fully formed or exploratory) for the business’ sake, not for analyses’ sake
• Seek to understand the business objectives relevant to your area, and align your work to those objectives and seek to deliver business value
• Proactively and continually, improve your level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant data resources
A day in the life
Analysis of business requirements and translation into technical requirements. By support of senior colleagues integration into a working, stable and scalable system
Independent realization of requirements for Business Intelligence and custom software development products
Creation of test cases and guidance of business stakeholders within the testing process
Presentation of solutions and implemented features within weekly sync up with business stakeholders
Ownership of maintenance and error handling of deployed solutions
1 – 2 main projects in parallel

About the team
As part of EU Supply Chain Execution's Data and Analytics team, we support SWA vertical across all miles (First Mile (Fulfilment Centers), Middle Mile (Sort Center, Linehaul), Last Mile (Delivery Stations) and End to End alignement) teams.
We support a wide variety of products ranging from:
Automations
Perfectmile reporting including logic creations
Traditionnal BI reporting (mainly QuickSight)
We have team members spread across London , Luxembourg , Munich and Barcelona.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in the data/BI space
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
- Experience with SQL

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
