from Amazon careersWe currently have a vacancy for a Day Shift Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Fulfilment Center (FC), reporting into the WHS Manager.
It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our Fulfillment Centre.
The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire FC workforce.
This is a hourly paid role working during day shift - Sunday to Wednesday and may rotate depending on business need.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits
- Facilitate incident investigation process
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
- Enter Safety Incident Information in internal database in a timely manner
- Perform safety observations & audits
- Coach others (Area Managers etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, Inspections etc.)
- May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location
- Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Bachelors degree in a Safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety
- Experience with data analysis

Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) experience- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Bachelors degree in a Safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in logistics- Experience with data analysis
