from Amazon careersAmazon is looking for an Indirect Tax Compliance Sr. Analyst that will be responsible for supporting and supervising tax compliance activities, as well as assisting with tax audits and projects implementation for Mexico.
Key job responsibilities
Primary duties include:
• Execute the day to day activities regarding indirect taxes (VAT and IEPS)
• Prepare, analyze and supervise filing tax returns and reporting obligations
• Perform tax compliance activities to support the Global team responsible for accounting, corporate and intercompany transactions
• Work with tax technology and FinTech teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation to reduce manual work
• Developing, implementing and documenting tax compliance process improvements
• Provide assistance attending authorities and government agencies on assessments, audits and any relevant issues
• Review financial data for proper application of tax laws and transfer pricing
• Follow up with tax law changes and implement new processes and strategies
• Help coordinating and reviewing activities of contractors
• Update, monitor and control metrics
A day in the life

· Perform tax compliance activities to support the Global team responsible for accounting, corporate and intercompany transactions.
· Supervise tax compliance, filing returns and reporting obligations
· Work with tax technology and IT teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation.
· Developing, implementing and documenting tax compliance process improvements.
· Coordinate and manage the use of outside advisors for preparing and filing tax returns and reporting obligations.
· Provide assistance to local tax audits and controversy matters.
· Review financial data for proper application of tax laws and transfer pricing.
· Develop and maintain knowledge of tax laws and current developments to identify potential impacts on the Amazon business.
·Monitor industry positions relevant to Amazon’s Mexico business operations.
· Follow up with tax law changes and implement new processes and strategies.

- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
