Amazon's Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is looking for a Sr. Manager, Procurement to lead the Procurement Shared Services function from Costa Rica, reporting to the Head of GPCS AMER.
You will own the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of core Source-to-Pay (S2P) Procurement operations workstreams - including, but not limited to, Supplier Set-Up & Maintenance, Catalogue & UIN Management, Delphi Ordering & Inventory Management, Blanket Purchase Order Creation (BPOC), Invoice on Hold (IOH) Resolution, and Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order (PR2PO) Compliance. You will lead a team of procurement professionals and partner with GPO stakeholders, procurement technology teams, and cross-functional partners across the LATAM and the wider AMER region.
The role is primarily focused on LATAM, with support extending to cover the broader AMER region - certain workstreams will be LATAM-focused, while others may span AMER (LATAM + non-LATAM AMER countries). Based in Costa Rica with up to 15% travel to EU or NA.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for managing supplier onboarding, catalogue creation and maintenance, Delphi Ordering, Inventory Management, BPOC and IOH management, and PR compliance - streamlining and automating procurement processes to reduce costs
- Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture and driving process design and execution initiatives to future-proof the function
- Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, IT, GPO category pillars, suppliers) to ensure procurement strategies support overall business objectives across AMER, with primary focus on LATAM
- Define and measure KPIs for procurement processes and shared services; analyze data, benchmark against industry best practices, and report on performance to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure adherence to Amazon's global spend policy, procurement policies, and data integrity across all operations
- Partner with the procurement technology team to support innovation, automation, and transformation of procurement processes
- Lead or own the development of process documentation, implementation, and best practices adoption
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure procurement processes and shared services remain competitive and effective
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and prepare and present reports to senior leadership
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- 7+ years of spearheading strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable financial results and advance organizational objectives experience
- 7+ years of managing and developing high performance teams experience
- Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or source-to-pay operations
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
- Experience with data analysis and business case development, and managing programs from concept to implementation
- Experience working cross-functionally and across regions
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience in communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal in Portuguese & English
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Master's degree, or MBA
- Experience with ERP and procurement tools, including Oracle, Coupa and Ariba
