from Amazon careersThe Mechanical Engineer designs automated packaging, sortation, and labeling platforms to enable faster and more efficient delivery to Amazon's customers. The primary role of the Mechanical Engineer is to provide technical ownership and refinement of the packaging, sortation, and labeling automation systems. Working with the Electrical and Controls teams, the Mechanical Engineer will execute the design and manufacturing of Amazon's in-house packaging machinery and automation. Utilizing RDPI's packaging machinery automation platforms and modules, the Mechanical Engineer in conjunction with the Electrical and Controls Engineers will execute project / platform design evolution and execution enabling the manufacturing of Amazon's in-house packaging machinery and automation. Co-located with our electrical and controls engineers, packaging designers and materials scientist this role will lead the design and development to ensure that Amazon's packaging, sortation, and labeling automation is simple, effective and delivers lower total cost while enabling more sustainable packaging, streamlined supply chains and lower total cost of ownership. A portion of this role will be dedicated to engineering process management and development.
