Job description

from Amazon careers
This role covers 24/7 shifts that include fixed weekend days and nights.

Do you want to learn how the most complex transportation network is managed on a daily basis?

Our entire business is focused on delighting our customers. We strive to stay agile from the second an order is placed online and throughout the seamless coordination of that order behind the scenes. That can be described in one of our core Leadership Principles, which is Bias for Action. This means that our teams band together, roll up their sleeves, and aren’t content with just standing still. We’re aiming to become the most customer-centric company on Earth.

That’s why we’re seeking a junior Logistics Scheduler with a passion for innovation, problem solving, and the ability to create world-class customer experiences. We’re looking for the type of team player who will embrace and adopt our core Leadership Principles which you can read more about here.

Key job responsibilities
You may be responsible for executing daily same day or next day volume and capacity planning, sequencing delivery routes or monitor the volume flow, affecting tens of thousands of packages at EU level. This will be done through the use of tools and coordination within the station and other teams. You will be accountable for planning accuracy, cost and customer experience. In addition, you will be instrumental in developing best practices and standard work for the network. You will ensure that targets and service deadlines are met, according to regulatory requirements.

You will play a proactive role in written and verbal communication with various departments, as you maintain Amazon’s exceptionally high levels of service, both for our customers and suppliers, facilitating the flow of information between different stakeholders and resolving any potential issues that impact business continuity. We need you to step back at strategic intervals to take in the bigger picture and to be comfortable conducting research into process improvement initiatives and taking real-time decisions. You will also maintain and report up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis.

A day in the life
This position is office-based. This role is a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months.

As a Logistics Scheduler you will work across the EU in a cross-functional environment with the Supply Chain, Distribution Centers, and Ground Transportation teams, in order to support our day-to-day operations to ensure the timely delivery of Heavy/Bulky shipments to our customers.
