Workday is seeking an Accounting Manager who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The candidate should be a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in an ambitious, fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting.
Job Responsibilities
Manage a team of 4 – 6 team members
Manage multiple key areas for global month-end close process including but not limited to bank reconciliation, prepaid expense review, expense accruals, balance sheet account reconciliations
Support Balance Sheet and Income Statement flux analysist after period-end close
Collaborate and coordinate with various business partners including Treasury, FP&A, Accounts Payable teams for proper recording of transactions
Support external audits and reviews by ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules to the auditors
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures for business processes on ongoing basis
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation and regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters
Develop and mentor accounting staff to build their professional career and maximize potential
Perform ad hoc analyses and projects from various business partners
About You
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or with an emphasis in accounting)
In depth knowledge of US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)and principles
8+ years of accounting experience; public traded company highly preferred
4+ years in people leadership/managerial role
Experience using a large ERP system
Other Qualifications
A highly productive self-starter with very strong work ethic and dedication to excellence
Ability to adapt to the rapid business and high-growth environment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed
High attention to detail and accuracy
