About the Team
The Workday Marketplace team is on a mission to build a world-class B2B ecommerce destination for the Workday ecosystem. We are responsible for high-impact experiences for both customers and publishers and integrate with industry-leading platforms like Salesforce, AppDirect, and Coveo. We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who thrives in a high-energy, 'startup-within-an-enterprise' culture. The Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer will develop, modify, and complete software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing. They debug software products through the use of detailed tests to apply and maintain quality standards for Workday's products. The Sr. QA Engineer will also ensure that system tests are efficiently completed, documented and resolved.
Strategy & Framework Maturity
Architect a Repeatable Framework: Design and implement a scalable automated testing framework that reduces reliance on manual vendor intervention and increases release velocity.
Own the Test Environment Ecosystem: Lead the strategy for test account management for the marketplace team, ensuring stable, reusable, and "production-like" data is available to prevent environment-related blockers.
Define Quality Standards: Establish and enforce "Definition of Done" criteria across the marketplace team, moving the needle from simple bug-finding to holistic quality advocacy.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Coordination
Manage Dependency Integration: Act as the primary quality liaison between the Marketplace team and dependency technology teams. Coordinate end-to-end (E2E) testing for complex features that span multiple services.
Partner with PM and Dev: Engage in "Shift-Left" practices by participating in design reviews to identify potential edge cases and interoperability flaws before a single line of code is written.
LiveSite & Observability
Enhance Production Observability: Partner with dev teams to monitor livesite issues. Use production data to inform and prioritize the regression test suite.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead the investigation into high-priority production escapes, ensuring that fixes are not only re-tested but that systemic gaps in the test plan are closed.
About You
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in software quality assurance engineering, with a proven track record of defining test strategies, executing complex testing efforts, and ensuring high-quality software releases.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Other Qualifications
Testing Expertise: Experience in SaaS or IT environments, specifically in maturing automated and manual testing techniques from the ground up.
AI: experience with AI-augmented testing frameworks, specifically leveraging autonomous AI agents and Generative AI (GenAI) to automate test case generation, self-healing script maintenance, and synthetic data orchestration.
Automation at Scale: Experience with automation test suites using tools such as Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, Bamboo, or Silk Test.
Environment & Data Management: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve test account and environment issues, ensuring high availability for testing teams.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Experience analyzing complex system behaviors and interoperability flaws, with the ability to identify and communicate high-risk areas to stakeholders.
Collaboration: Strong ability to partner with PM and Dev teams to align test scripts with business requirements
