The Director, Field Marketing, Japan Role
As a Director, Field Marketing, Japan you own the Account-Based Experience (ABX) strategy for Japan with a strong focus on 1:Few and 1:Many account clusters across priority segments and GTMs.
What makes this role interesting?
You act as a strategic business partner to Sales leadership, translating regional growth objectives into scalable, integrated ABX marketing plans that drive pipeline creation, acceleration, cross-sell / upsell, and revenue impact across direct and indirect routes to market.
This role is not activity-based marketing. It is pipeline-driven, account-centric, and outcome-focused, leveraging global frameworks while applying local market intelligence and execution excellence.
Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:
Own ABX Strategy & Field Marketing Execution (1:Few / 1:Many)
* Develop and execute the regional ABX marketing strategy, centered on 1:Few and 1:Many account clusters, aligned to:
* Priority industries, use cases, and GTMs
* Cross-sell and upsell motions across Qlik’s full portfolio
* Translate regional sales priorities into scalable ABX programs that influence multiple accounts simultaneously while preserving relevance and personalization.
* Ensure ABX programs support the full customer journey: awareness, engagement, pipeline creation, pipeline acceleration, and expansion.
Sales & BDR Partnership
* Partner closely with Sales Leadership, Account Executives, Customer Success Managers and BDR teams to:
* Align on target account clusters and priorities
* Drive joint planning, execution, and follow-up
* Activate ABX programs that support sales plays and territory plans
* Actively participate in regular pipeline and account reviews, driving actions based on marketing and sales signals.
* Ensure clear ownership, handoff, and accountability across Marketing, BDR, and Sales.
Extend & Localize Global Campaigns
* Own the local activation of global campaigns, ensuring they are:
* Relevant to regional priorities and target accounts
* Executed through an ABX lens (account clusters, intent signals, personalization at scale)
* Adapt messaging, channels, and tactics to maximize engagement across priority account groups.
Program & Channel Execution
* Execute a portfolio of ABX programs, including:
* 1:Few / 1:Many events and executive programs
* Targeted field and virtual experiences
* Cross-sell / upsell and acquisition campaigns
* Webinars and multi-touch digital activations
* Prioritize programs that scale across account clusters while delivering measurable business impact.
Partner-Led ABX & Ecosystem Activation
* Leverage Technology Alliances and Global System Integrators to:
* Access new audiences
* Co-create ABX programs aligned to shared GTMs
* Support focus resellers and channel partners through:
* MDF planning and governance
* Co-marketing programs aligned to ABX priorities and target account clusters
* Clear ROI and pipeline accountability
Pipeline Ownership & Measurement
* Own holistic marketing pipeline contribution for the region:
* Pipeline creation
* Influence and acceleration
* Expansion impact
* Implement a data-driven operating model to:
* Measure ABX performance at the account-cluster level
* Optimize budget allocation (including MDF)
* Continuously improve program effectiveness
* Use intent data and account insights (e.g. 6sense) to prioritize investments and actions.
Voice of Field & ABX Advocate
* Act as the voice of the field, providing structured feedback to global marketing teams to influence:
* Campaign design
* ABX frameworks
* Execution models
* Ensure regional stakeholders have full visibility and understanding of marketing plans, priorities, and impact on business objectives.
We’re looking for a teammate with:
* Strong expertise in Account-Based Marketing / ABX, with a proven focus on 1:Few and 1:Many motions
* Deep understanding of how to build, execute, and optimize integrated field marketing plans that drive pipeline and revenue
* Highly data-driven, digitally savvy, and comfortable operating in a performance-led marketing environment
* Proven ability to collaborate in a matrixed, cross-functional organization
* Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent analytical, planning, and project management capabilities
* Entrepreneurial mindset; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
* Experience managing agencies and vendors
* 10 + years of B2B marketing experience, with strong Field Marketing and ABX exposure
* Experience in enterprise software, SaaS, BI, or data-driven technology
* Strong partner marketing background (resellers, GSIs, alliances)
* Hands-on experience with marketing technologies:
* Salesforce.com
* ON24
* LinkedIn and digital platforms
* Intent data expertise (6sense strongly preferred)
* Ability to travel up to 25%
