Job description

from Smartsheet careers

For over 20 years, Smartsheet has helped people and teams achieve–well, anything. From seamless work management to smart, scalable solutions, we’ve always worked with flow. We’re building tools that empower teams to automate the manual, uncover insights, and scale smarter. But more than that, we’re creating space– space to think big, take action, and unlock the kind of work that truly matters. Because when challenge meets purpose, and passion turns into progress, that’s magic at work, and it’s what we show up for everyday.

We’re looking for a strategic and forward-thinking leader to join us as a Director, Payroll. In this role, you’ll own, improve, and manage global payroll processes.

Leading a global team, you’ll shape our approach to the payroll process, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver payroll for all employees, supporting the company’s rapid growth and global expansion. You’ll report to our VP, Accounting Transformation & IA and this is a remote-eligible position.

You Will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and exceptional service
  • Set strategic goals and objectives for the payroll department, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business strategy and operational demands
