Our Experiences team puts fans at the center of their favorite stories, in real life, through permanent entertainment venues, Netflix House, and touring attractions around the world. Netflix Houses are our permanent, always-on, constantly refreshable entertainment venues, where guests can step into their favorite stories. We want these experiences, along with merchandise offerings, to help promote love for our titles so they become part of the zeitgeist for longer periods of time and drive long-term value for Netflix.
This is a unique opportunity to help create the future of direct-to-consumer retail at Netflix. As an Associate Merchant, you will play a key role in entertaining the world by bringing Netflix IP to life through consumer right product assortments and retail experiences that drive fandom. Not only will you be an integral part of the team supporting the end-to-end assortment strategy for Netflix House, but you will also own executing the merchandising strategy for non-Netflix House retail experiences such as The Egyptian. You will collaborate closely with the Merchandising Manager and cross-functional teams to delight fans with consumer-right product assortments that will deliver fan joy.
What you will do:
* Execute the Netflix House merchandising strategy, assisting the Merchandising Manager with key tasks and projects.
* Own and lead the merchandising strategy, with an emphasis on line planning, for non-Netflix House retail experiences such as The Egyptian, creating a unique assortment that serves its specific consumer base.
* Support Product Development & Creative by ensuring vendor design and sample commenting requests are clear and organized.
* Coordinate with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Licensing to ensure alignment and seamless execution of merchandising strategy.
* Assist in analyzing sales performance and help to identify what’s working, what’s not, and what should be done about it to maximize revenue and minimize inventory.
* Obsess the consumers that exist in the Netflix fandoms we serve at Netflix House to deliver fanjoy via consumer-right product assortments.
* Conduct competitive research to identify new trends, products, pricing and opportunities in the retail industry to help inform future strategies.
What we need from you:
* 6+ years of experience in a merchandising and/or buying role, strong preference for vertical retail experience
* Strong retail acumen with the ability to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and partner effectively with Planning & Allocation.
* Strong creative eye with ability to partner closely with Design on product excellence
* Passion about the retail industry, fandoms, and emerging trends
* Experience with entertainment and/or IP related merchandise
* A natural curiosity about what’s next in retail for consumers
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, both verbally and digitally
* A proactive, detail-oriented mindset that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with Google Suite
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $147,000.00 - $228,000.00.
