This is a rare opportunity to own the end-to-end strategic direction of our entire MPS Product organization, shaping the future of our industry-leading scheduling and planning products and our Traveler Experience products that empower transit agencies to deliver a best-in-class customer experience for their riders.
This is a builder role. You'll shape a product vision, lead and grow a high-performing product management team, embed AI into both how we build products and what those products do, and represent Trapeze to the industry during one of the most consequential technology transitions in transit history.

Job Description:
What You'll Own
Strategy & Vision
- Partner with the General Manager and executive team to define and evolve a compelling multi-year product strategy across the full MPS product portfolio.
- Translate market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics into a clear, actionable product roadmap
- Identify build vs. buy vs. partner opportunities and make smart, decisive trade-offs between long-term vision and near-term delivery
- Support the creation of a five-year revenue and profitability forecast that is supported by the GTM strategy, and support annual financial planning and quarterly reporting
- Champion value-based pricing strategies that command premiums and drive commercial outcomes
AI-Forward Product Leadership
- Integrate AI capabilities meaningfully across the MPS product portfolio, from scheduling intelligence and operational automation to traveler-facing personalization in ways that create real value for transit agencies and riders
- Drive the adoption of AI tools and practices within the product management discipline itself: from discovery and synthesis to roadmap prioritization and competitive analysis
- Stay ahead of the AI curve and help the team separate signal from noise
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 2-4 Product Managers, raising the bar on craft, rigor, and customer focus
- Establish and continuously improve Product Management best practices, frameworks, and ways of working across the team
- Cross-functionally manage 2-3 additional contributors (Architects, Designers, Developers, Project Managers) with clarity and accountability
- Create a team culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement
Execution & Delivery
- Drive the full product portfolio scope from discovery through launch, accountable for quality, timeliness, and outcomes
- Serve as approver for all work products and deliverables across the MPS product organization
- Partner with Design, Engineering, QA, and DevOps to deliver solutions that are usable, deployable, and well-supported
- Manage vendor relationships and contract adherence with discipline
- Identify, measure, and systematically reduce technical debt
- Analyze product performance metrics and turn insights into action
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Lead deep customer engagement to uncover unmet needs and validate product direction
- Conduct rigorous competitive analysis to understand buyer criteria and market positioning
- Facilitate objective Win/Loss analysis and feed insights back into strategy and roadmap
- Track technology and market trends, especially the evolving role of AI in transit operations
Sales, Marketing & Stakeholder Alignment
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches, including pricing, positioning, sales enablement, and training
- Improve coordination and communication across Sales, Professional Services, Engineering, and Customer Care
- Translate complex product capabilities into compelling narratives for customers, prospects, and executives
- Deliver high-impact presentations to audiences at all levels, from operations to C-suite
Industry Presence & Evangelism
- Be a visible, credible voice for Trapeze at industry events, conferences, and customer forums
- Build relationships with transit agency leaders, industry associations, and ecosystem partners
- Help define what "modern transit technology" looks like and advocate for our vision of it
