The SME&C Cloud and AI Platforms Go-To-Market (GTM) team plays an essential role in translating Microsoft's commercial strategy into global execution plans that drive operational excellence and measurable business impact. Our team brings strategy and priorities to life by accelerating transformation, strengthening field and partner execution, and enabling Microsoft to deliver impact at scale.
As the Director Solution Area Management, Cloud and AI Platform, you will serve as an executive-level product and technical advocate, using your credibility and expertise to provide global thought leadership and drive impact across solution areas. You will develop and execute the SME&C Cloud and AI Platform go-to-market strategy, driving rigor across GTM plans spanning marketing, field, customer success, and partner functions in support of the One Microsoft approach.
You will be responsible for defining, orchestrating, and delivering strategic go-to-market plans across marketing, field, customer success, finance, and partner functions. You will align cross-solution investments and growth opportunities, influence worldwide strategy, enable Regional Leads and field communities with the resources needed to operate effectively locally, and use business metrics and field insights to drive GTM impact.

- You will define and orchestrate strategic go-to-market plans across marketing, field, customer success, and partner functions in support of the One Microsoft approach, aligning cross-solution investments and growth opportunities to short- and long-term business plans.
- You will influence worldwide strategy, enable cross-functional collaboration, and use business metrics, field insights, and performance trends to drive GTM impact, market share, and sustainable growth across regions.
- You will identify and pursue long-range, white-space growth opportunities and investment plans, including geographic expansion, while aligning market opportunities with Area and subsidiary capabilities to maximize business performance.
- You will own revenue, scorecard metrics, and KPIs; partner across finance, peers, senior leadership, and corporate teams; and support ROB cadence with insights that influence strategy, programs, priorities, and initiatives.
- You will ensure Regional Leadership and field communities have the resources and enablement needed to run the business locally, serving as a primary orchestrator between corporate and the field and addressing failure points that hinder execution.
- You will serve as an executive-level product and technical advocate, providing global thought leadership across solution areas, shaping strategy, value proposition development, positioning, customer guidance, and partner practice engagement.
- You will model, coach, and care as a people leader by defining team objectives and outcomes, enabling success across boundaries, helping teams adapt and learn, and attracting, retaining, and developing talent through empowerment and accountability.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- 8+ years marketing strategy, business planning, sales enablement, business development, technical pre-sales, or related work experience.
- 12+ years marketing strategy, business planning, sales enablement, business development, technical pre-sales, or related work experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years experience managing and expanding a product/solution portfolio and driving demand generation and pipeline acceleration within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization.
- 5+ years people management experience.
Field Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
