Your Team, Your Impact

Role Overview

Seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented System and PCB Design Engineer to lead the power architecture and hardware design for complex XPU and Custom silicon-based reference products. While the role involves advanced hardware design, the primary focus is on defining, simulating, and validating robust power delivery systems for state-of-the-art Marvell XPU/Custom silicon and other high-performance devices.

What You Can Expect

Power System Design & DC/DC Expertise

  • Architectural Design: Lead the definition and design of complex multi-phase DC/DC converter systems (Buck) to support high-current (500A+) XPU/Custom silicon power rails.
  • Modeling & Simulation: Perform rigorous DC/DC control loop modeling and stability analysis. Conduct comprehensive Power Integrity (PI) simulations to analyze AC impedance, transient response, and IR drop using tools such as Cadence Sigrity, Ansys SIwave, Keysight ADS, HSPICE or Simplis
  • PDN Optimization: Collaborate with layout teams to optimize the Power Delivery Network (PDN) stack-up and decoupling strategies to meet stringent ripple and noise specifications for Custom silicon interfaces.
  • Component Selection: Select and qualify critical power components (Power Stages, Inductors, Controllers) based on efficiency, thermal performance, and space constraints in high-density PCB environments.
  • Validation: Hands-on characterization of power rails, including load-line measurements, efficiency mapping, and thermal profiling under worst-case software workloads.

System & Hardware Responsibilities

  • Design & Bring-up: Work with chip designers and hardware/software engineers to design, bring-up, test, and debug issues in reference products.
  • System Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of multi-core processors, DDR4/5 memory, and high-speed SerDes interfaces (PCIe Gen 5/6/7 and 112G/224G Ethernet) as they relate to overall system power requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Create design documents to facilitate and support internal and external customer designs based on Marvell XPU/Custom silicon.

What We're Looking For

Necessary Background & Experience

  • BSEE/MSEE (MSEE preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in designing high-density PCBs with a heavy emphasis on power supply designs and high-current voltage regulators.
  • Simulation Expertise: Proven experience in PI simulation and analysis involving high-current power delivery networks.
  • Mindset: "Can-do" attitude, special attention to detail ("doing it right the first time"), and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

150,680 - 225,700, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
