Job description
from Lyft careersAt Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
The Trust & Safety function at Lyft is dedicated to keeping every Lyft ride safe for both riders and drivers. We build and maintain the tools, features, and systems that deter bad actors, protect vulnerable populations, and reinforce trust across the platform. As an Android Engineer working on Trust & Safety, you'll work at the intersection of product, design, engineering, and policy to ship high-impact safety features to millions of users.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Android features that directly protect riders and drivers.
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and backend engineers to translate safety concepts into polished, reliable user experiences.
- Critically evaluate proposed designs and product specs - identify logic gaps, edge cases, and potential abuse vectors before they reach production.
- Navigate tradeoffs thoughtfully in a fast-paced environment with many concurrent high-priority projects.
- Contribute to discussions around OKR planning and help find creative approaches to achieving team goals.
- Analyze internal systems and processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Share knowledge through brown bags, tech talks, and engineering best practices.
