## The group you’ll be a part of

WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Mechanical Program Lead Engineer for its product development engineering and product ownership team.

## The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Program Lead Engineer, you will own the design and delivery of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems for wafer fabrication equipment, with primary focus on fluid delivery systems for WETS Deposition products. The role spans feasibility studies, concept and detailed design, prototyping, engineering analysis, test planning, validation, and documentation through release. You will provide technical leadership across system architecture, packaging, and cross-functional integration to deliver robust, manufacturable, and serviceable solutions.

## What you’ll do

* Own end-to-end design and delivery of complex mechanical/electro-mechanical subsystems for advanced semiconductor processing equipment, with emphasis on fluid supply, distribution, and delivery architectures.
* Translate system requirements into module-level specifications; drive concept development, trade studies, and architecture decisions to meet performance, cost, reliability, and safety targets.
* Lead technical risk identification and mitigation using engineering calculations, tolerance/stack-up analysis, dFMEA, and DfX (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and testability).
* Execute detailed design, including CAD ownership, drawings/GD&T, design documentation, and configuration/release processes.
* Plan and drive verification & validation (V&V): define test strategy, build plans, instrumentation needs, and qualification execution; analyze results and close requirements.
* Partner with global cross-functional teams (systems, electrical, software, process, manufacturing, quality, product support, and program management) to ensure successful integration and program execution.
* Drive supplier/partner technical engagements: component selection (pumps, valves, sensors, regulators), DFM/DFS reviews, and issue resolution to achieve performance, quality, and cost objectives.
* Lead structured problem-solving for field and factory issues (RCCA/8D/5-Why); implement corrective actions to improve safety, reliability, and uptime.
* Prepare and present technical updates in design/program reviews; communicate design intent, analysis, risks, and validation status to stakeholders.
* Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and Best Known Methods (BKMs); contribute to development and continuous improvement of design standards.

## Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

* Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in mechanical product development; semiconductor equipment experience preferred.

## Preferred qualifications

* System-level expertise in fluid transfer and delivery systems (pneumatics/hydraulics) and electromechanical integration, including P&ID development and safety considerations.
* Strong mechanical design fundamentals and execution: CAD, drawings/GD&T, tolerance analysis, and technical documentation through release.
* Component and subsystem engineering experience (pumps, valves, actuators, sensors, regulators) including selection, qualification, and supplier technical interface.
* Proficiency with structured engineering methods: trade studies, DoE, dFMEA, and DfX for cost, manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.
* Verification & validation mindset: ability to define requirements, develop V&V plans, and interpret test data to drive design decisions.
* Hands-on problem solving using RCCA/8D/5-Why; ability to drive containment and corrective actions across cross-functional teams.
* Manufacturing knowledge across metals and plastics (machining, sheet metal, welding) with exposure to additive manufacturing and design-for-manufacture practices.
* Working knowledge of structural/thermal/flow simulation approaches and how to apply results to design decisions.
* Clear communication and stakeholder management skills; experience presenting in technical reviews. Semiconductor industry experience and familiarity with SEMI standards preferred.
