Sr. Infrastructure Storage and Backup Engineer
This role is responsible for the consulting, provisioning, operations and management of storage and backup infrastructure and solutions for Keysight IT. This position requires access to ITAR-controlled data. Applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Engagement around storage and backup solutions contributing to a well-architected, scalable, cost efficient, and secure environment.
- Provide expert level guidance to product (R&D) teams on storage and backup decisions, cost optimization, and vendor agnostic solutions.
- Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines for IT support team members.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement through observability, recommend and integrate process and architecture improvements.
- Ensure the highest level of up-time and Quality of Service (QoS) to internal customers through operational excellence.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement with storage and backup environments, and influence various teams to work together.
Day to day activities:
- Engagement with local R&D teams.
- Collaboration, mentoring and guidance to engineers.
- Research and Proof-of-Concept development
- Architecture evolution and forward thinking.
- Architecture and Design communications (presentations and meetings)
- Execution/implementation of cloud solutions.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience consulting, implementing and supporting IT storage and backup solutions
- Expert experience with NetApp and related storage technologies
- Advanced skills with Commvault and related backup solutions
- Knowledge of and experience with hypervisor technologies including but not limited to VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager
- Proficiency in Linux and/or Windows server administration
- Proficient in Identity, Security Architecture, Config management, Security and Network Security.
- Understanding of networking technologies – TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing and redundant configurations
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:
- Expertise in Linux and/or Windows server administration
- Knowledge of and experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) solutioning and support
- Deep understanding of monitoring and logging in storage and backup environments including retention and cost optimization strategies
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD concepts and practices.
- Ability to create high-quality documentation about architectural decisions, design rationale and implementation guidelines.

Colorado Pay Range MIN $110,740.00 MIDPOINT $147,650.00 MAX $184,570.00
