from Google careersThe Google Public Sector, Technical Delivery and Operations team delivers, operates and secures private cloud services. We aim to provide the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of public cloud for customers with exceptionally high security requirements that can only be met in a private cloud environment. We deliver and operate these private cloud deployments for the most critical customers, helping scale, secure and maintain the deployment whilst working closely with Google product teams to continually improve our technology. This role is part of a new team focused on meeting the needs of our most critical customers in the UK.
As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will be deploying new infrastructure as our deployments scale, rolling out new features and updates, troubleshooting problems, and managing incidents. In line with Google’s standard engineering practices, you will automate common tasks, manage incidents and conduct blameless retrospectives to avoid the same problems happening again. You will work with local support staff to help them with challenging problems and you will reach back into Google’s product teams for help where you need it.
