Engineering Analyst, Trust and Safety Account Security

A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Drive the rapid response for high priority/severity account security incidents, conducting thorough root cause analyses to inform and implement sustainable long-term solutions.
- Use data analysis to discover and interpret new ways attackers are compromising Google accounts or are creating and using them for abuse, identifying weak points in our systems.
- Evolve our response capability through better communication, automation, process improvements and ideas to spot attacker behavior better and quicker.
- Partner with the broader team, Product Manager and Engineering to identify, prioritize and develop strong strategies against the most pressing and novel threats.
- Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- 2 years of experience in a data-intensive role such as threat intelligence, data science, trust and safety, or fraud analysis.
- Experience working with SQL or Python.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering).
- Experience with scripting languages like Python and in data analysis, including excellent SQL skills.
- Experience in cybersecurity, incident response, threat intelligence or threat detection.
- Experience with metrics design, process design or automation in the adversarial space.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to stakeholders at different levels.
