As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Utility Strategy Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex utility infrastructure projects across our portfolio. You will manage our global utility infrastructure risk and readiness assessment program and serve as the engineering lead for custom water and wastewater solutions for new data center developments. You will work closely with a worldwide network of stakeholders to ensure that all key players are coordinated on roles, responsibilities, and deadlines. You will focus on protecting our data center delivery timelines and ensuring we meet our strategic goals.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in program or technical project management.
  • Experience managing relationships and leading mission critical utility infrastructure project.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in large-scale industrial development.
  • Experience with infrastructure risk management.
  • Experience in a cross-functional role at the interface of engineering, commercial, and legal teams.
  • Understanding of the intersection of utility procurement and related infrastructure capacity solutions.
  • Ability to independently develop data-driven technical insights and translate into executable commercial solutions for the business at-large.
