Purpose of the role
This is a pivotal time to be part of General Mills’ Solutions Delivery and International Hub organization as we build a modern data and decision platform for International markets on GCP, and connect it into DRIVE, VERA and broader data programs across International markets..
As Product Delivery Manager – Data & GCP, International, you will own the end-to-end delivery of data products and data platforms for International (INTL Hub, DRIVE/VERA data services). You will work closely with the International Data Engineering team, the Data Architect, regional business stakeholders, and central platform teams under guidance of Intl Data leader to drive Data transformation and change management.
You will:
- Lead day-to-day delivery of international data products on GCP (data pipelines, semantic layers, KPI marts, and data APIs that power DRIVE and VERA programs).
- Apply strong data engineering and GCP expertise to guide solution design and implementation.
- Operate in an agile product model (MillsWorks 2.0), ensuring that data products are robust, scalable and aligned to business priorities across markets.
This role demands solid technical depth in data engineering on GCP, strong delivery leadership, and the ability to partner closely with international business and analytics teams to drive measurable impact.
In this role, you will partner with senior leaders across Supply Chain, Planning, Commercial, Digital Platform, and Data & Analytics, and work closely with our India GIC leadership to shape the future of General Mills’ International business and Digital product vision. You will bring strong technical expertise, lead cross-functional agile teams, act as a technical SME.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Data Platform & Product Delivery Leadership – International
- Own end-to-end delivery and support of international data products:
- INTL Hub data foundation and golden datasets in BigQuery
- Data services/APIs consumed by DRIVE, VERA and other INTL applications.
- Translate International business priorities and MVP ideas (from the Sr. D&T Manager – International) into executable product roadmaps and sprint backlogs.
- Drive agile ceremonies for data squads (backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
- Ensure predictable, high-quality releases
- data pipelines deployed into production,
- data freshness and quality SLAs defined and met,
- data APIs are stable and performant
Platform Leadership & Transformation - Deliver capabilities aligned with our Run–Improve–Transform operating model, accelerating backlog execution and platform stability.
- Lead global enhancements and intelligent automation across planning and execution value streams.
- Drive development and deployment of AI/ML use cases, scenario simulators, and self-healing workflows.
- Technical Delivery on GCP (Data Engineering Focus)
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for solutions built on GCP:
- BigQuery (schema design, partitioning, clustering, performance tuning).
- Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, Dataflow/Beam (or equivalent ETL frameworks)
- Integration with Cloud Run / GKE-based services (FastAPI / INTL-HUB-CORE APIs).
- Work closely with the Data Architect to:
- design dimensional/star schemas and semantic views,
- standardize KPI and ontology models (e.g., Distributor, SKU, Market, Incident).
Guide data engineers in:
building robust, reusable ingestion and transformation pipelines,
implementing dbt models and tests,
integrating data quality checks, monitoring and alerting.
- Delivery Governance, Metrics & SLAs
- Define and track key delivery KPIs
- sprint velocity, release cadence, cycle time, defect leakage, rework.
- Define and track data SLAs for key International data products:
- data latency/freshness,
- pipeline success/failure rates,
- DQ issue counts and severity,
- service/API latency and availability.
- Build dashboards and executive reports that link delivery health and data product health to business outcomes.
- Help optimise use of data platform resources (cost-conscious design and monitoring of BigQuery/GCP usage).
- Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management
- Align with:
- International and INTL Hub product owners.
- International Data Engineering team and Data Architect.
- Regional commercial/supply chain teams, analytics teams, and BI/Reporting.
- Central platform teams (e.g., Data Foundations, Identity, Palantir CoE, Supply chain teams) where relevant
- Act as primary delivery contact for international data products, providing:
- clear status updates,
- visibility of risks and decisions,
- mitigation and recovery plans.
- Manage dependencies upstream (SAP/S4, OMP, Palantir/Foundry, local systems) and downstream (DRIVE, VERA, BI/analytics).
- Risk, Issue & Quality Management
- Proactively identify risks across:
- data acquisition and quality,
- system and team dependencies,
- technical design and performance
- Implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Manage scope growth transparently; enforce prioritization and trade-offs aligned with International business value.
- Ensure robust incident management for data products:
- documented runbooks,
- clear on-call and escalation paths,
- ownership for resolution and root cause analysis.
- Process, Agile & Continuous Improvement
Champion MillsWorks 2.0 agile@scale practices tailored to data engineering and analytics work. - Improve estimation and planning accuracy for data tasks (pipelines, transformations, refactors).
- Standardise patterns across International data products:
- ingestion and modeling frameworks,
- dbt templates,
- common DQ rules,
- monitoring and alerting dashboards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree / MBA with focus on Technology, Data, Analytics or Operations.
GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect) strongly preferred.
Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe Agilist, PMI-ACP, or equivalent).
Experience in large-scale data platform or supply chain/commercial transformation programs.
Exposure to:
CPG/Retail data domains (sell-in, sell-out/IMS, supply chain/logistics, finance),
Agentic/AI-driven analytics platforms (e.g., Palantir Foundry/AIP, ELF/Waste/Risk pods).
Experience working in multinational, cross-functional teams across developed and emerging markets.

Certifications & Industry Expertise
Certifications such as GCP Professional Data Engineer / Cloud Architect, Agile (CSM/SAFe/PMI-ACP), or PMP are preferred
Prior experience with Tier-1 consulting firms or data/analytics advisory partners is a plus
Recognized for leading continuous improvement initiatives in data platforms, analytics, or cost-to-serve optimization
Domain & Platform Experience
FMCG / Retail industry experience preferred, with exposure to multi-region operations (North America, Europe, Asia/INTL)
Strong understanding of commercial and supply chain data domains (sell-in, sell-out/IMS, inventory, service KPIs like OTIF, Casefill, OOS, waste)
Hands-on experience with cloud-native data platforms such as GCP (BigQuery, Composer, Dataflow, Pub/Sub) and familiarity with Azure/Snowflake or similar environments
Exposure to AI/ML or agentic use cases (e.g., Palantir Foundry/AIP, waste/ELF pods, forecast improvement, recommendation systems)
Digital & Agile Transformation
Experience in product/platform operating models (e.g., MillsWorks 2.0), Agile PODs, or Run–Improve–Transform frameworks
