Professional Services Tech Lead/Architect

Professional Services within Fortinet, is an integral part of the support and services organization, as a result the Consultant will collaborate effectively with peers to drive customer satisfaction. The Consultant delivers Professional Services as part of their regional team, on site and remotely to customers.

The Consultant delivers technical services including design, implementation, migration, optimization and related documentation. The Consultant also participates in scoping projects in the pre-Sales phase and is aware of best practice methodology to build and construct a Scope of Work.

The Consultant instils confidence to customers through their technical ability, focused communication skills and structured approach to implementing security solutions. This role requires a constant focus on improving technical skills through training or on-job learning opportunities.

The Consultant needs to be collaborative and build effective working relationships within Fortinet to drive success. The Consultant is expected to contribute to team processes and highlight to management any risk to projects.

Job Responsibilities

The Professional Services Tech Lead/Architect:

• Acts as the senior technical authority driving complex, large-scale migration/implementation projects— coordinating multiple resources, aligning architecture and delivery teams, managing technical and delivery risks, and ensuring successful execution across planning, design, implementation, validation, and cutover phases.

• Provides thought leadership in developing migration methodologies, frameworks, and best practices—especially for incubation-stage or emerging technology areas—to scale delivery excellence across the organization

• Lead technology transition discussions, influencing design decisions and migration approaches while driving high-quality service delivery outcomes.

• Translate complex customer business requirements into end-to-end solution architectures focused on technology/solution transition

• Lead Professional Services pre-sales, including solution scoping, effort estimation, and creation/review of Statements of Work (SOWs).

• Contributes to Professional Services growth by clearly articulating the capabilities and business value of migration services to diverse audiences—including Sales, and customer stakeholders

• Owns and resolves complex technical challenges related to product interoperability and feature parity, configuration translation, optimization, and multi-vendor integrations.

• Provides technical leadership during escalations by offering deep architectural guidance, collaborating closely with Engineering and Support teams, and driving timely resolution of complex issues that may impact project delivery or customer outcomes. 

• Works with internal development teams on automation initiatives—conceptualizing use cases and collaborating with developers to implement scripting and tooling for migration efficiencies. 

• Provide actionable insights to product management teams on feature gaps, roadmap enhancements, and real-world migration challenges.

• Continuously enhances technical knowledge across Fortinet Security Fabric and adjacent technologies through structured self-learning and training.

• Develops the reusable assets including templates, scripts, best practices, and methodologies to strengthen the migration practice.

• Provides mentorship and guidance to senior consultants on Fortinet Professional Services frameworks and technical execution

Job Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity architecture, network/security design, and complex solution migrations.

• Experience working as a cybersecurity technical leader or an architect.

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet Security Fabric, including firewalls, SSE, application security, cloud and web security

• Expertise in at least 3 of the following technologies: SASE, Network Security, Application Security, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancers and/or other cloud based technologies
• Knowledge of python or any scripting language is highly desirable

• Prior experience leading large-scale migration programs

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders and deliver high-quality technical documentation.

• Experience in Professional Services—presales, SOW creation, delivery governance, and customer advisory.

• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

• Ability to guide and mentor engineers and drive best practices across the regional delivery organization.

• Strong commitment, self-driven with excellent team leadership skills.
• Travel (up to 30%).
