As a Mechanical Component Engineer in Cisco’s Supply Chain organization, you will join GSM CQT team. Technology, engineering, and business experts who believe innovation and technology can solve any business challenge. Our mission is to anticipate and develop component technology that deliver components with quality and efficiency.We accomplish this by delivering adaptive, innovative, and scalable supply chain capabilities that optimize customer outcomes. In this role, you will have extensive understanding of the tools, processes, and techniques used to manufacture mechanical components and mechanical assembly for Cisco products. You will also be collaborating with our mechanical component suppliers as well as partnering with Global Supply Management, Manufacturing Operations, Product Operations and Supply Operations through your industry knowledge and experience to qualify and develop component supplier capability and drive for excellent quality in the region.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Oversee qualification of component site capabilities and product readiness. Technical participant in commodity teams. Evaluate quality/reliability performance data provide inputs for sourcing strategy. Participate in Defect reduction teams and process re-engineering teams. Identify, initiate, and drive process improvements that reduce process cycle times and cost, while maintaining exceptional quality. Lead product transfer or change programs from technical team to sustain affected products and supplier’s sites. NPI early engagement and provide inputs for concurrent engineering efforts on DFM, FMEA, tooling design, etc. Technical expertise/SME support to supply chain and engineer community.
