BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to support its San Diego Maritime Solutions shipyard site. In this role as a Senior Environmental Specialist, you will implement and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure all regulatory, customer, corporate, and other requirements are planned and executed. Your support will include the primary shipyard and its ancillary location(s), e.g. Naval Stations and warehouses.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the programs and procedures necessary to meet all environmental compliance obligations.
- Implement comprehensive data collection and recordkeeping processes, utilizing EMS auditing and multi-media inspections to verify the adequacy of regulatory information.
- Analyze environmental data and records to assess the adequacy, accuracy, and completeness of information as required for all regulatory programs. Such programs may include, but are not limited to EMS, air quality, wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, NPDES, hazardous waste, SPCC, over-water transfers, and others.
- Prepare environmental reports, environmental data tables, permit applications and amendments, and other regulatory data for submission to corporate office and/or upload to corporate, local, state, and federal regulatory databases.
- Develop, implement, and maintain pollution prevention and waste minimization programs.
