Job description

Job Description This occupation requires the maintenance, repair, disassembly, installation and dismantling of various machines and equipment such as, fabricating machines, welding and processing equipment and material handling equipment, minor plumbing repairs. Repair and rebuild perishable tools such as drill motors, soldering irons and guns, sanders, air motors and heat sealers. Perform routine maintenance assignments involving painting, carpentry, minor machine repair, welding, equipment servicing, etc., either assisting a higher classified employee or performing work independently where his/her skills permits. Set, adjust and seal weighing machines, tensiometers, engineering levels and small tools. Determine operations sequences and methods to use when repairing, assembling, installing and check-testing these machines and equipment, including parts to be remachined, repaired or replaced, following and being guided by trade practice, manufacturers’ drawings and specifications, installation layouts and sketches and verbal and written instructions. Perform such typical maintenance mechanic work operations as repairing, overhauling, mechanical servicing, disassembly and assembly, dismantling and installing machines and equipment. Set up and operate incidental to other work described herein, such machines and tools as drill presses, power saws, pedestal grinders, and small tools.
