BAE Systems is hiring for an experienced SHE Supervisor to support our York, PA manufacturing site on 2nd Shift (2pm-11:30pm on a 9/80 schedule). Reporting to the Safety Manager, the 2nd Shift SHE Supervisor provides safety health and environmental leadership to 2nd shift York site operations; supervises SHE Specialists on 2nd , 3rd, and weekend shifts; and works as an individual contributor. The SHE Supervisor will work with other team members to identify, develop and implement safety, health and environmental goals and objectives to reduce exposure to risk, improve SHE performance and improve SHE culture at the site.

Note about Schedule: Typical hours are 2pm-11:30pm on a 9/80 schedule. A 9/80 schedule allows employees to work a standard 80 hours over a period of 9 days, rather than the traditional 10-day, 2-week period. Employees work 9 hours per day for 8 days (M-Th), and then work 8 hours on the 9th day ("On-Friday"), and every other Friday, the employee gets the day off ("Off-Friday").Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Full-Time Salary Range: $75254 - $127930

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

BAE Systems is hiring for an experienced SHE Supervisor to support our York, PA manufacturing site on 2nd Shift (2pm-11:30pm on a 9/80 schedule). Reporting to the Safety Manager, the 2nd Shift SHE Supervisor provides safety health and environmental leadership to 2nd shift York site operations; supervises SHE Specialists on 2nd , 3rd, and weekend shifts; and works as an individual contributor. The SHE Supervisor will work with other team members to identify, develop and implement safety, health and environmental goals and objectives to reduce exposure to risk, improve SHE performance and improve SHE culture at the site.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Ensure safety, health and environmental exposures are identified and mitigated; drive process and program improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for specific safety health and environmental subjects or regulatory program areas that drive regulatory compliance and SHE continuous improvement across the York location.
- Identify existing gaps in the effectiveness of site safety and health management systems; direct efforts to identify the causes for those gaps; and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions to close the gaps.
- Lead and participate in investigations into SHE related incidents, from the initial response to the identification of root cause and the identification of corrective/preventive actions.
- Develop communications related to SHE incidents and events.
- Oversee emergency response planning efforts and initiatives to ensure site readiness for responding to safety health and environmental related emergencies.
- Lead and participate as necessary in responses to safety health and environmental related emergencies.
- Review and update SHE policies and procedures, ensuring they are accurate, current, and reflect the latest Regulatory, Industry, and Company standards and requirements.
- Collect and analyze SHE related data to feed regulatory and BAE Systems reporting requirements and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Advise and influence operations and support function supervisors and managers on ways to improve SHE culture and performance. This included one on one contacts with shop floor employees, supervisors and managers.
- Develop and deliver SHE related training including mobile equipment and aerial lift training.
- Participate in SHE Assurance and Management Systems Audits as an audit team member.
- Participate in budget preparation and tracking, establishing and monitoring progress toward department goals.
- Identify needed support from outside consultants, assist in developing scopes of work, and supervising the work performed by those consultants.
- Represent the York site on SHE working groups and project teams as assigned.

- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and four years of related manufacturing safety experience, or an overall equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience leading a team.
- Supervisory experience.
- Proficient in OSHA regulations, consensus standards.
- Proficient in basic First Aid to include CPR/AED.
- Capable of recognizing risks and hazards associated with heavy manufacturing.
- Requires use of conceptual and innovative thinking (i.e., identifying solutions).
- Developed communication skills to exchange complex information.
- Basic knowledge of industrial hygiene, air monitoring for heavy metals, and noise abatement.
- Computer capable to include MS: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with safety, health and environmental management systems.
- Able to support on the 2nd Shift.
- MS degree in safety, engineering or natural sciences.
- Experience in safety health and environmental in a heavy manufacturing environment, including welding on large structures and paint operations.
- Experience in with ISO 14001 and 45001.
- Experience supervising SHE professionals.
- Certification as a CSP or CIH.
