BAE Systems is looking for a high energy leader to support our machining product lines. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CNC Production / Machine shop, ensuring efficient processes, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role involves managing a team of machinists, coordinating prototype schedules, and implementing quality control measures. The Value Stream Specialist plays a crucial role in optimizing workflow, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that KPI's are met. The supervisor needs to be effective in a fast-paced and agile environment. This role will support the A2 shift - Mon thru Thurs 4pm to 2:30am.
Primary role and responsibilities:
- Supervise the CNC Production / Machine shop personnel in day-to-day operations.
- Conduct performance reviews.
- Responsible for establishing workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees.
- Maintain and communicate the machining schedule status to ensure meeting customer expectations.
- Support and encourage a culture and an attitude with an emphasis on quality improvement.
- Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup times.
- Maintain shop measuring equipment calibration program ensuring all relative equipment is calibrated according to schedule.
- Maintain machine shop organization, safety, and cleanliness practices using 6S.
