What You’ll Do:
- Design hardware for system and detailed circuit design for space-based, high-reliability electronic systems including:
- Modeling and simulation.
- Analysis (worst case circuit analysis, parts stress analysis, reliability, signal integrity, risk mitigation).
- Digital designs with architectures utilizing FPGAs, microprocessors, soft-core processors, digital filters, image processing algorithms, and high speed SERDES communication interfaces/protocols like XAUI, sRIO, PCIe, and SpaceWire for communication and data processing for a variety of sensors – focal planes, detectors, gimbals, phased arrays.
- Analog designs with architectures focusing on general analog, mixed signal, and power supply electronic design.
- Design and implement test fixtures including test plans for both chip-level and board level environments and create reusable circuits that can be utilized across multiple projects.
- Work with Parts Engineers to select and approve EEE parts to meet program requirements.
- Lead or support anomaly debug, determination of root cause, and corrective actions.
- Work closely with printed wiring board packaging and layout engineers.
- Interface with systems engineers to define functional and performance requirements.
