About the Role
The Staff Developer – AI Platform Engineering is a senior individual contributor role responsible for designing, building, and operating next-generation AI platforms and cloud-native backend services. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is accountable for end-to-end delivery, quality, scalability, and reliability of AI-driven systems while mentoring engineers and influencing broader engineering practices.
You will develop, test, and deploy AI platforms using cloud-native architectures, enabling intelligent automation, reasoning systems, and secure distributed services. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals combined with expertise in distributed systems, AI integration, and cloud-native platform development.
You will collaborate with security, detection engineering, incident response, data science, and platform teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and context-aware AI capabilities that power advanced automation and intelligent decision-making systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy AI platforms using cloud-native architectures.
- Design and build AI agents, MCP Gateway, LLM Gateway, and other AI ecosystem services.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices using Python, Go, and scalable cloud-native patterns.
- Build secure and highly available systems leveraging AWS services such as Bedrock, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Kubernetes/EKS.
- Build and maintain detection pipelines, incident response playbooks, enrichment services, and agentic automation systems.
- Integrate software components into robust, production-ready systems with strong observability, documentation, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with threat detection, incident response, data science, and platform engineering teams to deliver secure and reliable automation capabilities.
- Apply test-driven development and CI/CD practices using Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Contribute to architectural discussions on integrating LLMs, reasoning agents, and autonomous task execution frameworks into AI platforms.
- Solve complex problems creatively using advanced analytical and debugging techniques across distributed systems.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth through knowledge sharing and technical leadership.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in backend software development, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or security-focused systems.
- Strong understanding of automation design patterns, distributed systems, and cloud-native application architectures.
- Experience building large-scale production-grade backend systems using Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience building AI platforms or AI-enabled backend systems in production environments.
- Strong experience with AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure along with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and microservices architectures.
- Experience working with data pipelines, streaming systems, or detection workflows.
- Strong understanding of system observability, reliability engineering, and production operations.
- Proven ability to work independently on complex features and contribute to architectural decisions.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience integrating LLMs, agent frameworks, and AI orchestration systems.
Familiarity with AI platform tooling and frameworks used for model inference and
orchestration.
- Experience with secure AI systems, threat detection automation, or security engineering workflows.
- Experience building internal developer platforms or automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of secure software supply chain and platform governance practices.
