POSITION: Senior Designer, IC Layout (P3)

SUMMARY: The Senior IC Layout Designer is mainly responsible for the creation of section level layouts. He/she will mostly work with schematic designers, block layout resources and lead layout people. His/her job is to meet schedule, design and quality requirements set by project stakeholders. Depending on the project size, he/she will be handling a number of block layout resources and it will be his/her task to allocate tasks, set schedule and provide direction. He/she will have the opportunity to mentor new hires or interns and may likewise be tapped to be a part of other development initiatives for the layout team.

Key Competencies Required

• Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso XL and Calibre verification tools is an advantage
• Extensive section (multi-hierarchical) level layout experience
• Experience with Floor-planning large Blocks
• High proficiency in interpretation of LVS/DRC/ERC/ANTENNA/DENSITY/DFM
• Expertise in standard layout practices such as Layout matching, parasitic, noise & noise isolation, supply consideration, latch up, shielding, Well’s substrates and Isolation. 
• Experience in laying out circuits for ESD consideration 
• Strong fundamental knowledge in semiconductor device physics, cross-section and construction
• Strong fundamental knowledge in layout principles, IC reliability and failure mechanisms 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Good interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
• Able to work and effectively collaborate with a cross-functional and global team
• Ability to work with the design team to minimize layout re-work by improving processes, checklists and documentation
• Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills.
• Layout experience in any of the following areas is an advantage: ADC, DAC, High-voltage applications
• Scripting skills in PERL or SKILL considered an advantage
• Top/Chip level layout is an advantage
• Layout experience in the following technology nodes is a plus: 0.18um, 40nm

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• BS Electronics or Electrical Engineering
• At least 4 years of relevant working experience
