You will work closely with display hardware teams, ODM/OEM partners, and cross-functional software engineers to define, implement, and validate PQ standards that set the bar for the industry.
This is a high-impact, highly technical role that requires both deep system-level thinking and hands-on execution. You will not just define standards — you will build the tools, algorithms, and processes that make those standards real.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior System Development Engineer on the PQ team, you will:
- Own the end-to-end PQ system architecture for Amazon 1P devices, spanning SW feature development, display tuning, and factory quality integration.
- Develop and maintain PQ software algorithms including picture quality features, gamma/LUT calibration pipelines, white point correction, and color management systems and etc.
- Define and enforce Amazon's PQ tuning standards across ODM partners, ensuring consistent visual quality across global markets.
- Lead PQ certification programs including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR 10+,coordinating with third-party certification labs and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with display hardware engineers and ODMs to understand panel characteristics and translate hardware capabilities into optimized SW tuning parameters.
- Drive root cause analysis for PQ defects identified in factory, field, or competitive benchmarking, and implement systematic fixes at the SW or process level.
- Partner with ODM engineering teams to resolve PQ gaps during production, ensuring quality gates are met before launch.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the PQ team.
- Influence product roadmap by providing data-driven PQ assessments and competitive analysis.
