Prime Video Japan Finance team is seeking a passionate, self-driving Finance Manager to help the growth of Prime Video Japan. This role would support the content finance team, focusing on developing short and long-term content strategy, budget controls, and setting performance goals.
The successful candidate will have excellent quantitative hands-on skills and business acumen to navigate through big data and identify most impactful and/or actionable investments. She or he must be able to communicate logically to influence business decisions, as well as prioritize and adapt to constantly changing situations. Most importantly, the person must have the insatiable eagerness to improve the business for our customers.
This position will be based in Meguro, Tokyo.
• Partner with business, programming, and content strategy teams to design both short and long-term content strategy, including inventing new metrics to measure success.
• Author post-mortem analyses to determine areas for optimization and improvement on past content investment decisions
• Set content category level performance and efficiency goals and report to PV leadership on actual results, and dive deep to deliver insights into drivers of variance – inclusive of Prime Video content factors and wider Prime dynamics.
• Provide timely, accurate and complete, financial forecasting and reporting for PV JP service and content budgets, including close partnership with Prime Video Advertising.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
· Evaluating business initiatives; quantify to confirm that they offer promising Return on Investment, and propose alternatives as needed.
· Owning financial planning; forecast future performance and bridge actuals against the plan.
· Summarizing and communicating business results to executive-level leadership
· Using data skill to provide analytical support and develop new KPI’s; aid the team gain better understanding of the business
· Automating aforementioned financial processes
· Collaborating with marketing, finance, accounting, legal, and content acquisition teams across the globe.
- 6+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Business level in English & Japanese (verbal and writing)
- 8+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, engineering, statistics or business related or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience- 6+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Business level in English & Japanese (verbal and writing)
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 8+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
