The Shift Manager is operations leadership position responsible for managing shift operations at a delivery station with a primary focus on safety and productivity. This role leads teams of Associates to achieve operational targets while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position requires working rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. During Peak Events (High Season), this role is required to work on weekends and holidays, including night shifts to ensure the execution of plans.
Key job responsibilities
Safety Leadership (Primary Focus)
Champion workplace safety as the #1 priority in all decisions
Ensure 100% compliance with WHS protocols and conduct daily safety audits
Investigate incidents immediately and implement corrective actions
Lead by example in following safety procedures and wearing required PPE
Productivity Management (Primary Focus)
Drive achievement of key metrics.
Supervise daily operations (inbound, sort, dispatch) during night shifts
Manage delivery cycles (Same Day, Late Same Day, Cycle 2) .
Monitor real-time productivity and make immediate adjustments to meet targets
Balance productivity goals with safety requirements - never compromise safety for speed
Operational Management
Coordinate with DSPs to guarantee route capacity and quality
Manage labor allocation to optimize productivity while maintaining safe staffing
Ensure quality standards in sort and load processes
Respond to operational challenges during night shift operations
People Leadership
Lead a team of 15-30 Associates during assigned shift
Provide daily coaching on safe work practices and productivity improvement
Deliver real-time feedback and create a positive, safety-first environment
Participate in onboarding of new AAs
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Analyze daily safety and productivity data to identify improvement opportunities
Implement initiatives to reduce safety incidents and increase throughput
Support new operations launches (Grey Kangaroo, new coverage areas)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Report results and escalations to Station Manager
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 3+ years of general experience
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English

Basic Qualifications
- Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- 3+ years of general experience
- 3+ years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
